Are there any Park and Ride sites?

An extensive Park and Ride plan is in place and tickets are available to purchase through the website at https://www.tallshipssunderland.com/shop/parking

All Park and Ride sites will open 30 minutes before the first bus departs.

24hour security will operate at Park and Ride sites for the duration of the event.

Overnight parking will not be accommodated

Can I pre-book my Park and Ride ticket/s?

Yes, pre-book your Park and Ride tickets at a reduced cost of £10. Buy your ticket online here: www.tallshipssunderland.com/shop/parking The charge covers up to 5 people on the Park and Ride bus to the Event Zones. The pre-booked Park and Ride ticket also includes use of the event shuttle bus, for all car passengers, which operates on a hop-on, hop-off basis, between Event Zone C and Event Zone A, throughout the event. Additional Park and Ride tickets will be charged at £4 per person. Children aged 4 and under travel free of charge.


Can I purchase a Park and Ride ticket on the day?

Yes, tickets bought on the day will be charged at £4 per passenger. This enables you to park your car and to ride on the event shuttle bus.

Is there a Park and Walk facility?

Yes, a Park and Walk facility is available, you can download the timetable and locations here

A Premium Park and Walk facility is also available at Zone C

Premium PRE BOOKprice per car - £15. Includes shuttle bus ticket for driver and up to 4 passengers for full day.

Premium PRICE TO PAY ON THE DAY per car - £25. Does not include shuttle bus

Where is there parking for Blue Badge holders?

There will be a designated Blue Badge holder parking at Event Zone C, St Peters. Pre-booked Blue Badge Parking tickets cost £10 per day. These spaces are accessible (equivalent to one and a half standard size spaces) Blue Badge Parking tickets purchased on the day will cost £20 per day (subject to availability) Accessible 'Hop-on, hop-off' event shuttle bus services will be in operation to transport visitors between Event Zones C and B. The ticket is included in the cost of the pre-booked Blue Badge Parking tickets.

Can we get any Park and Ride bus back to our car park?

No, different buses will go to different car parks. Bus numbers will correspond with the Park and Ride site number i.e. Site 1 will be bus PR1. There will be clear signage at each pick up/drop off location and bus staff will be on hand to offer advice to passengers.

Is there Coach Parking and how much is it?

Yes, Coach Parking is at Stadium of Light, Hay Street, SR5 1BG. Event Zone drop off points will be available for coaches and Event Zones are within walking distance from the Coach Park. Pre-booked coach parking tickets cost £40 per day. Please note spaces are 3.5m x 14m. Coach Parking tickets purchased on the day will be charged at £60 per day (subject to availability) There will be capacity for up to 35 coaches. Early booking is recommended. Coach passengers will need to purchase event shuttle bus tickets for the day if required

How do I purchase Coach Parking tickets?

Coach Park tickets are available to purchase online at the event website https://www.tallshipssunderland.com/shop/parking

Do Coach Parking costs include VAT and will we be issued with a receipt on the day or if we book on-line in advance?

Prices are inclusive of VAT, receipts will be issued with your booking confirmation when booking in advance, or issued to the driver when paying on the day.

How far is it to walk to the Event Zones from the Coach Park?

Event Zone C is within 600m (0.4 mile) walking distance and Event Zone A is within 1.7km (1.1 miles).

Are there free toilet facilities for passenger/drivers to use at the Coach Park?

Yes there will be temporary toilet facilities located within the Coach Parking area.
