Class A

SANTA MARIA MANUELA is a four masted gaff schooner.

Launched in 1937 by Companhia Uniao Fabril in Lisbon, she was built for cod fishing but also regarded as one of the most beautiful vessels of the famous Portuguese "White Fleet". In 1993 she was retired from the fishing fleet and partially demolished leaving only her hull.

In 2007, the Portuguese company Pascoal & Filhos took ownership of the hull and began the three year process of bringing her back to her former glory relaunching her in 2010.Trainees on the Santa Maria Manuela are often involved in elements such as astronomy, wildlfie watching and of course the fantastic experience of sail training and teamwork.
